In 1 Kings 19 Elijah ran from the threats of Jezebel. He journeyed all the way to Horeb, the mountain of God. When Elijah got to the mountain he went into a cave. And there God spoke to Him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (1 Kings 19:9).
Persecution and threats have caused you to withdraw and hide in a cave. Past woundings and broken hearts have caused you to enter the cave.
Fear of success and hope deferred, the death of dreams and visions have caused you to hide in the caves. But the Lord says I have used your time in the caves and this time have not been wasted though I didn’t call you to the cave.
The Lord says, I have given you wisdom in the cave. I have given you vision in the cave. You have seen in the cave what you couldn’t see in the light. I have changed your mind and made you a head in the cave. In obscurity I have promoted you. You have received revelation from me in the cave and you are not the same person you were when you entered the cave.
In verse 11 God said to Elijah, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” Elijah came out of the cave and God sent a wind, an earthquake and a fire. And then God spoke to Elijah to a still small voice.
This is the hour for you to come out of your cave and hear the still small voice of the Lord.
The Lord says I am not speaking in the noise of the earth, the confusion of media and the opinions of men. Come out of the caves and hear me for I am giving my people new assignments and new mantles.
It is time to come out and go!
